What is a Moonling? (in plain English)
A Moonling is a credit. Every time the AI works for you, it spends Moonlings: creating a design, removing a background, writing the product page. The official site says one product uses 800 Moonlings. Enlarging a generated design for print is free. Unused Moonlings carry over with no limit, and they stay yours if you cancel.
How much does one product cost?
Divide the price by the number of products you can make. At full use that gives about $0.18 per product on Pro ($34 for about 187 products), about $0.18 on Elite ($59 for 337) and about $0.16 on Ultime ($179 for about 1,087), based on the figures on the official Magicmoon website. If you use fewer Moonlings than your plan includes, the cost per product goes up.
Which plan should you choose?
You want to try without wasting money
Start with the free demo, which needs no credit card, to see the whole path from design to published product. When you are ready to create for real, begin with Pro or a one-off top-up. Pro gives you far more Moonlings than you need to test a first collection.
You want to go fast and publish more than everyone else
Look at Elite or Ultime. Elite gives you 10 planets, so 10 separate brands, and Ultime has no limit. Combined with the batch mode, which handles up to 500 ideas at a time, they are built for sellers who want to launch many products quickly.
Simple rule: count the products you want to publish next month, multiply by 800, and pick the option that includes at least that many Moonlings. For 100 products you need 80,000 Moonlings.
Top-ups: pay once, no subscription
You can buy extra Moonlings, called Reinforcements, at any time, even on the Free plan. The public page does not list their prices. In our own dashboard, checked on October 26, 2026 and shown in euros, we saw 80,000 Moonlings for 20 euros and 210,000 Moonlings for 50 euros without a subscription, and more Moonlings for the same price on Pro (100,000 for 20 euros). Check your own dashboard on the official Magicmoon website for the amount in your currency.
Costs outside Magicmoon (do not forget them)
Magicmoon is only one part of the bill. The supplier that prints and ships your products charges a production cost, but only when a customer orders. Printify's optional Premium plan, for example, starts at $24.99 per month billed yearly according to the Printify pricing page.
Etsy also charges a fee per listing and a percentage of each sale. Read our print on demand on Etsy guide for the details and Printify vs Gelato to compare suppliers. For the whole picture of the tool itself, see the Magicmoon review.
Pricing FAQ
Is Magicmoon free?
You can explore the guided path in demo mode for free, with no credit card. The Free plan adds no Moonlings each month, so creating real designs with the AI needs a subscription or a one-off top-up.
Do Moonlings expire?
No. The official site says unused Moonlings carry over with no limit and stay yours if you cancel.
Do the prices include taxes?
The official page shows monthly prices in US dollars with taxes included. In some countries the dashboard shows your local currency.
Which plan has the best value?
At full use, the cost per product is similar across paid plans, between about 16 and 18 cents. A bigger plan only saves money if you really use its Moonlings.
